CAI Top N and Metrics Reports

CAI Top N and Metrics reports contain information about the data that is captured during business transactions in DevTest Portal. The reports can be searched, viewed, managed, shared, and exported.

Open CAI Top N and Metrics Window

You access the reports from the CAI Top N and Metrics window. Open the window by selecting Reporting, CAI Top N and Metrics from the left navigation menu.

The CAI Top N and Metrics window contains inventory and top n reports. Inventory reports contain information about what occurred during business transactions. The top n reports contain information about the top performers for a specific criteria. The list of reports can be viewed in the category Screen capture of category button or the list Screen capture of list button view. The category view organizes the reports by inventory and top n and provides a description of each report. By default, the list displays in the category view. The list view displays the names of the reports in alphabetical order. You can also find reports using the Search bar. See Search for Reports for more information.

Inventory Reports

The following inventory reports are available:

  • Exception Count by Type
    The Exception Count by Type report displays exception occurrences by frequency in a bar chart.
  • Exception History
    The Exception History report displays the exceptions that occurred over a specified time. The report displays information in a line chart.
  • Frame Type Run List
    The Frame Type Run List report displays information by frame type in a table.
  • Log Count by Severity
    The Log Count by Severity report displays the log count for agents by severity. The severity levels can be information logging, warning logging, and error logging. The report contains a legend that represents the severity type counts. You can click the legend to hide or show the severity count type.
  • Log Message History
    The Log Message History report displays a historical count of log messages. The report contains a legend that represents the log message types. You can click the legend to hide or show the type of log message count.
  • Ticket History
    The Ticket History report displays a historic count of tickets that were generated.

Top N Reports

The following top n reports are available:

  • Top N Response Calls
    The Top N Response Times report displays which responses took the longest time to occur during a period. The bar graph displays the longest and average response time for each transaction. The response time is in milliseconds. The method and name of the transaction is included on the graph, for example, GET/lisabank/viewtransaction.
  • Top N Most Invoked Method Functions
    The Top N Most Invoked Method Functions report displays which methods and frames were invoked the most during a period.
  • Top N Slowest Calls by Category
    The Top N Slowest Calls by Category report displays the top slowest calls by category. You can filter the report by the categories that pertain to the calls.
  • Top N Slowest Calls by Standard Deviation
    The Top N Slowest Calls by Standard Deviation report displays the slowest call and the standard deviation.

Search for Reports

You can search for reports by entering all or part of the name in the Search bar and clicking Screen capture of the find button. The Search bar is at the top of the CAI Top N and Metrics window. For example, enter history to display all the reports that have history in the report title.

View Reports

When you open a report from the CAI Top N and Metrics window, a new tab opens with the report. The report populates in the window.

The report data displays in the left pane and the report filter options display in the right, Refine By pane. The filter options that display can vary for each report. 

Move the pointer over the chart to view more information. When a report contains several pages, use the navigation arrows at the bottom of a report.

To zoom into a portion of the report, click and drag the pointer over the area. Click Reset zoom to restore the report to the original display. 

Each CAI report has a title, description, and date. Some reports have a legend. The legend is color-coded to represent the values or properties in the report.

Follow these steps:

  1. Select Reporting, CAI Top N and Metrics from the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the name of the report or click Screen capture of view report button to view the report.
    The report opens in a new tab with the name of the report.
  3. Analyze the report.

Filter Reports 

You can filter the information that displays in reports using the Refine By pane and the legend. You can click the legend to hide or show the graph values.

The following filtering options are available in the Refine By pane and can vary for each report:

  • Start Time
    Enter or select the start date by using the calendar Screen capture of the calendar button. By default, the start date is seven days before the current date. Enter or use the up and down arrows to select the start time. By default, the start time is the last hour and minutes.
  • End Time
    Enter or select the end date by using the calendar Screen capture of the calendar button. By default, the end date is the current date. Enter or use the up and down arrows to select the end time. By default, the end time is the hour and minutes.  
  • Category
    Select a category or multiple categories from the list.
  • Agents
    Select an agent or multiple agents from the list.
  • Top N Results
    The default percentage is 10.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open a report.
  2. Select or enter the filter options in the Refine by pane and click Apply.
  3. Click the legend to hide or show values.

Export Reports to PDF

You can export all the report data into a PDF to save and print.

  1. Click 
    The report displays in another browser window.
  2. To adjust the display of the report, click the zoom in and zoom out buttons.
  3. To save, click the save button.
  4. To print, click the print button.

You can send an email with the link to the report by clicking Mail link button.

Share Report URL

You can view and copy of the URL for a report by clicking Share link button.
