Enhancements After 11.3 SP3

Last update January 20, 2017

The following enhancements are delivered after r11.3 SP3:

Support for System Agent 11.3.07

CA Workload Automation DE Release 11.3 SP3 supports CA Workload Automation Agents Service Pack 11.3.07.

Hyphens in User and Group Names

You can include hyphen (-) in user or group names when you create CA Workload Automation DE users or groups. Also, CA Workload Automation DE validates and retrieves LDAP user names with hyphens from the configured LDAP directory.

Note: For more information about creating users and groups, see Managing Security for Users and Managing Security for User Groups. For more information about importing LDAP users to the server, see Authenticating Users to the Server Using LDAP.

New Time Zones

CA Workload Automation DE now supports the following time zones:

Time Zone Code City
monterrey Nuevo León, Mexico
santa_isabel Baja California, Mexico

Note: For more information about time zones, see Schedule Criteria.

Deleting Source Files and Directories After Transferring Files Using SFTP Jobs

You can delete the local source files (if uploading) after they are uploaded from the agent computer or the remote source files (if downloading) after they are downloaded from the remote SFTP server. Optionally, you can delete the directory containing the source files. If the directory is not empty or if it contains files other than source files, you cannot delete the directory.

Note: For more information about SFTP jobs, see Define an SFTP Job.

Enhancement to Oracle E-Business Suite Jobs

When you define a request set job or single request job, you can now specify a template name for a single request or a program in a request set. In Oracle Applications, the template name is specified as a request definition option and is found in the Template name column of the Upon Completion dialog.

Note: For more information about the request set and single request jobs, see Oracle E-Business Suite Jobs.

Skipping Migration of Application Versions

You can skip the migration of Application versions during artifacts migration by configuring the migration.default.conf file.

Note: For more information about configuring the migration.default.conf file, see Upgrading the Server from Previous Versions.

Important! If you upgrade the server from r11.1 to r11.3 or higher, first update the server with the latest r11.1 patch.

Limiting Number of Jobs That Are Inserted Into Current Generation of Application

By default, the number of jobs that are inserted into the current generation of an Application is not limited. You can now configure the maximum number of jobs to be inserted and trigger a new generation automatically when the number of jobs reaches the maximum value.

  • The server inserts the additional jobs into the current generation until the new generation is available.

Configuring Socket Timeout for SMTP Server

If the SMTP server fails to respond to the connection or the read request, by default the CA Workload Automation DE server waits for 5 minutes before closing the current request and initiating a new request.

However, you can modify the default wait times by configuring the socket connection and I/O timeout values for the SMTP server.

Note: For more information about configuring the socket timeout for the SMTP server, see Configuring the Server Using the File.

Additions to the SCHEDULEALLEVENTS CLI Command

In the previous releases, you can use the SCHEDULEALLEVENTS CLI command to reschedule all Events containing a schedule statement. Now, you can also use this command to reevaluate the schedules of specific Events and reschedule those Events when their calendars are updated.

Important! When you update the Calendar of an Event, the Event may not get refreshed automatically. Hence, we recommend that you first reevaluate the schedule of the Event and then reschedule the Event.
