azure (Microsoft Azure Monitoring)

Last update June 13, 2017

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform and infrastructure, created by Microsoft and hosted at Microsoft datacenters.  Azure provides on-demand computing and storage to host, scale, and manage web applications and services.

The Microsoft Azure Monitoring probe remotely monitors the health and performance of Azure infrastructure and services. The probe enables you to connect to Microsoft Azure using certificates and discover Azure resources to be monitored. The probe fetches all the service data from different geographical locations. You can create profiles to monitor your cloud services including virtual machines (VMs), websites, and storage. You can configure various monitoring parameters for each of these services. For example, you can check the health status of data services and VMs, the number of requests made to the storage service, and CPU utilization. Based on the configured parameters, the probe generates Quality of Service (QoS) metrics.
